Web Project
ShrtUrls is a URL shortening and monetization platform that allows users to generate short links from long URLs. Website owners and publishers can use ShrtUrls to shorten links and share them across social media, emails, blogs, etc.
As the product manager overseeing the dashboard redesign project for ShrtUrls, our primary objective was to
revamp the existing dashboard to address user feedback and industry trends. The overarching goal was to
enhance user experience (UX) and usability by modernizing the interface and streamlining access to key
features.
Purpose of Redesigning the Dashboard and Desired Outcomes:
The ShrtUrls dashboard, though functional, exhibited an outdated design that hindered user engagement and
efficiency. Recognizing the importance of a visually appealing and intuitive interface, our purpose in
redesigning the dashboard was twofold: to attract users with an attractive UI and to provide quick access to
essential functionalities.
The desired outcomes of the dashboard redesign were as follows:
Improved Usability:
Our aim was to simplify the user experience by reorganizing navigation and surfacing key features
prominently, eliminating the need for users to dig through settings or profiles to perform common
actions.
Enhanced Visual Design:
By modernizing the visual design, we sought to create an aesthetically pleasing interface that would
captivate users and convey a sense of professionalism and trustworthiness..
Streamlined Access to Actions:
We aimed to empower users with quick and efficient access to actions such as link management, analytics, and
account settings, reducing friction and enhancing productivity.
Increased User Engagement:
Through a combination of improved usability and attractive UI design, we anticipated a boost in user engagement, with users spending more time on the dashboard and exploring its features.
Positive User Experience:
Ultimately, our goal was to deliver a seamless and delightful user experience that would leave a lasting
impression on users, fostering loyalty and advocacy for the ShrtUrls platform.
